Job Title: Deskside Support Technician (Network Deployment Project) Location: Whistler, BC, Canada Duration: 4 Months - (On-demand role - Scheduled visits till project completion) Working Hours: Standard Business Hours Job Summary We are seeking an intermediate-level Deskside Support Technician to assist with a network deployment project at a hotel site. The technician will support physical installation, device preparation, and basic network setup tasks. The resource will work under project supervision and must be available for the full project duration, including follow-up visits. Key Responsibilities Unbox, organize, and inventory IT/network hardware Label devices and maintain accurate deployment records (spreadsheets) Prepare devices for deployment Perform cleanup and organization post-unboxing Install switches and firewalls in network racks (using basic tools) Patch network connections (Ethernet and fiber) Assist in mounting and deploying access points (standard wall/ceiling height only) Follow instructions from the project lead and provide status updates Required Skills & Qualifications Experience in deskside support or IT hardware deployment Basic understanding of networking (switches, firewalls, cabling) Hands-on experience with Ethernet and fiber patching Ability to use basic tools (screwdrivers, drill/electric screwdriver) Familiarity with asset tracking and documentation (Excel/spreadsheets) Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work long hours during deployment phases Additional Requirements Must have a reliable personal vehicle for site travel Willingness to travel and stay on-site as required Availability for ongoing visits over ~4 months Ability to work independently during follow-up phases Reporting To Project Lead / Site Supervisor
