Job Description

We are seeking a creative, organized, and culturally aware Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator to support our digital presence across multiple platforms. This contract position will play a key role in planning, creating, and managing social media and digital content designed to strengthen engagement with Indigenous communities for a large, highprofile project. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who understands how various platforms resonate differently with diverse Indigenous audiences and is passionate about meaningful, communitydriven communications. This role is suited for someone who works well independently, thrives in a dynamic environment, and values culturally respectful engagement. Experience in social media coordination, digital content creation, communications, or a related field. Strong understanding of how different platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) engage diverse Indigenous audiences. Proven ability to create visually appealing and culturally relevant digital content. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple priorities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Sensitivity, respect, and awareness of Indigenous cultures, values, and communication practices. Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities or organizations is a significant asset. Preferred Skills Graphic design or basic video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe tools). Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools. Familiarity with communitydriven communications approaches.
