More importantly, we are creating an environment where people can grow, contribute, and make a real impact early in their careers.What this job actually isThis is a hands-on, field-focused role where youll work directly with crews, supervisors, and project teams.You will:Spend time on active construction sites Support hazard assessments, audits, and investigations Help teams identify risks and strengthen controls Contribute to training, communication, and safety systems This role includes both field work and administrative responsibilities.Youll be expected to learn quickly, stay organized, and take initiative.What your day-to-day will look likeIn the fieldWalking job sites, observing work, and talking with crews Supporting hazard assessments (JHAs, energy-based risk reviews) Participating in inspections, audits, and safety tours Helping verify that critical controls are in place and working Assisting with incident reviews and gathering accurate information Working with teamsSupporting supervisors and project teams with safety planning Communicating with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies when required Helping ensure consistency in documentation and expectations across teams Contributing to a culture where people feel comfortable speaking up Systems, reporting, and follow-upTracking incidents, actions, and improvements in systems (e.g., Flex Manager) Following up on corrective actions from incidents and audits Supporting monthly reporting and trend tracking Assisting with safety program documentation and updates Training & communicationHelping develop and deliver toolbox talks, workshops, and safety materials Turning lessons learned into clear, practical takeaways Creating or supporting visual and engaging safety communications Planning & project supportAssisting with project-specific hazard assessments and safety plans Supporting pre-job planning, tender reviews, and contract requirements Contributing to emergency response planning What success looks like in this roleYou build strong relationships with crews and supervisors You ask good questions and seek to understand how work really happens You follow through on actions and keep things organized You help teams see and manage risk more clearly You contribute ideasnot just checklists WHO YOU AREWe are intentionally hiring for mindset and potential, not just experience.You are someone who is:Curious you ask questions and want to understand how things really work Creative you think differently and enjoy finding better ways to communicate and solve problems Outgoing youre comfortable talking to people in the field and building relationships Adaptable you can navigate changing environments and priorities Resilient you stay positive and keep learning, even when things are challenging Driven you take initiative and want to grow quicklyInnovative you use tools (including AI) to improve how work gets doneBonus if youre interested in:Interest and abilities in design, media, or visual communication Creating content that people actually pay attention to Finding better ways to explain complex ideas Passion for improving how people learn and engage with safety QualificationsDiploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or related field Co-op, internship, or field exposure is an assetbut not required Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems What you should know before applyingThis role involves regular travel to construction sites Youll be working in active, sometimes physically demanding environments Some administrative and reporting work is required alongside field responsibilities You will be expected to learn quickly and take ownership of your development Our CommitmentWe are committed to:A psychologically safe environment where you can learn and grow Fair and consistent accountability aligned with a Just Culture Supporting your developmentnot just evaluating performance Important NoteThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
