Title - Director of Finance (CPA) Tenure - Full Time, Permanent Location - Downtown Toronto (Liberty Village) Salary Range - $120,000 $140,000 + Equity Workplace Type - Hybrid Freight Technology | AI Tools | Series A Stage | North America About the Company Our client is a fast-scaling freight technology company transforming how small and mid-sized fleets operate across North America. Their AI-driven platform addresses critical operational challenges in trucking beginning with fuel management and expanding into a full-stack operations solution. They are growing quickly and building foundational infrastructure to support long-term scale. Position Overview This is NOT a maintenance role. Its a ground-up build! Our client is seeking a Director of Finance who thrives in high-growth, evolving environments and can build structure where it doesnt yet exist. This is a hands-on, build-from-scratch opportunity not a maintenance role. The ideal candidate will take ownership of rebuilding financial infrastructure, implementing scalable systems, and serving as a strategic financial partner to leadership. Key Responsibilities Audit, clean, and fully rebuild QuickBooks financial statements Establish sustainable accounting processes and financial controls Modernize and optimize the financial technology stack Build and automate financial reporting systems Own forecasting across short-term cash planning and long-range financial modeling Lead relationships with lenders, creditors, and financial partners Provide strategic financial guidance to leadership Partner with founders on fundraising readiness, board reporting, and growth planning Support overall financial decision-making and operational scaling Qualifications CPA designation (required) 10+ years of experience in finance Experience in startup or high-growth environments Proven track record of cleaning up and restructuring financial systems Strong communication skills with experience managing lenders and creditors Hands-on operator comfortable building models and presenting insights Experience with financial automation tools and modern finance systems (preferred) Background in transportation, logistics, or related industries (preferred) What We Offer Competitive base salary Equity participation (vesting begins at the end of Q2) Hybrid work flexibility Direct exposure to leadership and strategic decision-making Opportunity to build and own the companys financial infrastructure during a critical growth phase
