Position Summary The Owner Operator Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing and processing payments for independent contractors (owner operators) within a transportation company. This role ensures accurate settlement calculations, timely payments, and compliance with contractual agreements and company policies. Location: Mississauga, Ontario Schedule: Hybrid, 40 hours, Mon Fri What you will do Process weekly/bi-weekly settlements for owner operators, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Pay based on mileage, percentage, fuel surcharges, accessorial charges, and deductions Manage deductions, including holdback, fuel, insurance, maintenance, advances, and other applicable charges Reconcile Holdback Release Investigate and resolve discrepancies in pay Maintain accurate records of contractor payments Ensure compliance with company policies Prepare reports related to payroll, settlements, and contractor earnings Respond to inquiries from owner-operators regarding pay and deductions Assist with year-end processes (e.g., tax forms such as T4A) What you will do Experience working specifically with owner operators in trucking/logistics 2+ years of payroll or settlement experience (transportation industry must) Strong understanding of owner-operator pay structures (mileage, percentage-based, etc.) Preferred experience with payroll software (e.g., Dayforce and UKG) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis Along with the following Skills & Competencies: High attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial data Why people love working for Canada Cartage A cohesive team and a positive, hard-working atmosphere.
