PVI, PeerView Institute for Medical Education is dedicated to improving clinical competence andperformanceand ultimately patient outcomes and public healththrough the provision ofcontinuing medical education (CME) and professional development activities that leverageinnovation in educational design and application of recognized adult learning principles and target those healthcare professionals most in need of the knowledge, skills, and competence imparted by the education. PVI achieves this mission through our expertise in needs assessment and grant writing, educational design, content development, faculty selection, and outcomes assessment for a variety of therapeutic areas and educational formats and design, including elearning, video, satellite symposia, grand rounds, small group learning, and print.Medical Writer, Oncology or General MedicineStatus: Full timeLocation: Home officebased in Canada. Some travel required (~15%)Primary ObjectiveCollaborate with internal and external experts to (1) identify existing practice gaps and underlying unmet needs, (2) develop strategic needs assessments that align these practice gaps and unmet needs with innovative solutions to address these needs, and (3) identify opportunities for new business development.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain knowledge of the rules and regulations that govern accredited continuing medical education and continuing professional development (ie, ACCME, ACPE, ANCC, AAPA, AANP).Collaborate closely with medical director to aggressively develop grantsDevelop and maintain knowledge of important clinical issues and industry trends in genitourinary oncology (eg, bladder cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer)Weekly work on proposals/needs assessments developed for industry grant committeesLeverage therapeutic area experience to develop educationally aligned scientific agendas within grants while utilizing appropriate instructional design elementsCollaborate with the grant operations and editorial team to finalize educational and scientific content of grants prior to submission by the grants teamSkills/QualificationsThe ideal candidate will be comfortable working from home and highly motivated to workindependently as well as part of a team in a highvolume, deadlinedriven and collaborativeenvironment. While an advanced medical or science degree is preferred, candidates with 2+ years experience in the medical education field also will be considered. All candidates must demonstrate knowledge of specific therapeutic areas, experience with grant writing, and significant experience writing and editing clinical content for healthcare professionals.Specifically, our Medical Writer will have:At least 2+ years of relevant experience in medical education.Solid editorial (writing and editing) skills and capability to adapt editorial style based on the educational format and/or the target audience (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals).Adapt at researching, compiling, and analyzing clinical and scientific evidence quickly.Positive, upbeat personality who communicates concisely and clearly, both written and verbal. Knowledge of the rules and regulations overseeing medical education as well as familiarity with current trends in the industry.A self-starter and team player that is comfortable working in a fastpaced, virtual, and dynamic work environment.Proven ability to effectively set priorities, manage multiple projects/assignments in various stages of development, and meet timelines, all while maintaining high quality standardsExpert at Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Word.Familiarity with AMA Style Guide.
