Belting Technician (French/English) Quebec City Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures Operate forklifts, jacks to position machinery and parts during the handling, set-up and fabrication of conveyor belts Inspect and examine conveyor belts to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions Install, troubleshoot and maintain industrial conveyor belts and related instruments Adjust belts and repair or replace defective parts for heavy duty conveyor belt installation using vulcanization Operation machine tools such as grinders for maintenance or set-up of machinery Dismantle and assemble parts of machinery and equipment prior to and post installation using hand tools such as wrenches, rachets, hammer, crowbar, allen key, socket sets as well use the power tools such as drills and hand grinders. Perform general belt fabrication including Cut To Length, Lacing, Finger Splicing and Slitting Complete belt installation at customer's facilities on time and in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with company policy and practices. Review receiving shipment documents, input received goods into the system Participate in cycle/physical counts & inventory operations as required. Receive products from vendors as they are delivered, including the verification of the number of items received as well as assuring that it is the correct product ordered. Assemble skids for safe shipment Load/unload trucks using pallet truck, check delivery slips and BOLs to confirm correct product and count Service customers, receive shipments from suppliers, provide information to delivery drivers Inspect freight for damages and report if any are found Organize delivery schedule and instruct delivery drivers accordingly Generate delivery slips and BOLs either electronically or manually Book courier, freight, domestic and export shipments online Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S (helps maintain cleanliness, efficiency, and safety) Comply with all company procedures and safety practices Attend prescribed courses and training as required Other duties as required by the Management. Knowledge and Skills Requirements: Bilingual Requirement: French and English Prior experience as industrial machine operator is required High school Diploma, GED, Technical/Trade School or equivalent experience Ability to read and comprehend shop orders and working drawings written in English/French Must be able to read and interpret measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, scales) Ability to complete basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, fractions, decimals and metric system Must be able to work in Canada for any employer Must have a valid Class 5 drivers licence. Salary & Conditions: 2. Salary: $24 to $25 per hour, depending on profile and experience 3. Days of work: Monday to Friday - Permanent Full-time position, 40 hours per week 4.
