The Nursing Care Manager is a key clinical leadership role, supporting the Director of Care in the daytoday operations of the nursing department and personal care services. This position provides handson leadership, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports the delivery of highquality, residentfocused care aligned with Atlantic Baptist Housings philosophy and standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nursing professional who is passionate about leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement in a longterm care environment. What youll be doing - Support the Director of Care in the overall management of the Nursing Department, including staffing, budgeting, and regulatory compliance - Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting personcentered, evidencebased care - Ensure compliance with Prince Edward Island Nursing Acts and Regulations and Nursing Home Inspection Standards - Support the integration of legislation, standards, and clinical practice guidelines into daily nursing practice - Perform daily rounds within nursing care units to support quality and continuity of care - Assist with the development, review, and updating of internal nursing policies and procedures - Track, monitor, and report medication incidents and participate in risk management initiatives - Participate in strategic planning and implementation of nursing care initiatives - Support recruitment, orientation, probationary periods, and disciplinary processes in collaboration with the Recruiter and Workforce Coordinator - Participate in Nursing Department meetings, Professional Practice meetings, Occupational Health and Safety meetings, and other committees as required - Support education initiatives, including education sessions and student clinical placements (RCW/RA, LPN, RN) - Prepare and submit required reports, including weekly reports to Public Health when applicable What we are looking for - Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program and is a RN in PEI or the ability for your license to be transferred immediately - Progressive nursing experience in a long term care environment would be a major asset - Demonstrated leadership capabilities or proven experience - Experience working within regulatory frameworks and clinical standards - Ability to lead, mentor, and support nursing teams in a dynamic care environment - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities - Commitment to high standards of resident care, safety, and professional practice At Venor and Atlantic Baptist Housing we embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace.
