This is not a production-only position focused solely on executing predefined briefs or maintaining brand standards. Instead, we are looking for a creative thinker and makersomeone who can hold and evolve Allys brand while pushing it forward through thoughtful, innovative design.In this role, you will ideate, design, and manage the execution of creative concepts from start to finish. You will translate ideas into fully realized assets across print, social media, web, and film, collaborating closely with marketing and communications leadership while bringing your own creative vision to the table.This role is ideal for a self-motivated designer who is energized by storytelling, current design trends, and using their skills in service of a mission they care deeply about. This role reports to the Marketing & Communications Director and works as a creative thought partner in shaping how Ally shows up visually and emotionally in the world.What You'll DoCreative Ideation & Design LeadershipChallenge conventional nonprofit design approaches by proposing bold, thoughtful, creative ideas that help Ally stand out and lead within the charitable sector.Balance brand stewardship with creative evolutionhonouring Allys visual identity while introducing fresh ideas and approaches.Stay informed on current design, digital, and visual storytelling trends, applying them thoughtfully to Allys work.End-to-End Creative ExecutionMaintain a high standard of creative excellence, ensuring all outputs reflect Allys quality, care, and attention to detail.Think beyond individual assets to how creative work functions as part of a cohesive digital experience across platforms and campaigns.Design and produce high-quality creative assets across:Print materialsSocial media contentWebsite and digital assetsVideo and film projectsManage the full lifecycle of creative projectsfrom concept and design through execution, delivery, and implementation.Adapt and optimize designs for different formats and audiences without losing creative integrity.Partner with marketing and communications leadership to ensure creative work supports campaign goals and contributes to meaningful audience engagement.Project & Workflow ManagementIndependently manage multiple creative projects at once, balancing priorities and deadlines effectively.Coordinate timelines, assets, and approvals to ensure smooth implementation of creative work.Take full ownership of assigned creative initiatives, managing priorities, timelines, and execution with minimal oversight once objectives are defined.Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with marketing, communications, and other internal teams to understand goals and translate them into compelling visual work.Contribute creatively to campaigns and communications planning, not just execution.Collaborate openly, give and receive feedback constructively, and support a positive, team-oriented creative environment.Mission-Driven StorytellingUse design as a storytelling tool to communicate complex, sensitive topics with care, dignity, and impact.Bring passion and intentionality to creative work, ensuring it reflects Allys values and vision.Approach all creative outputs with empathy, thoughtfulness, and a strong sense of responsibility.What Were Looking ForA desire to grow as a creative leader developing both craft and strategic thinking over time, with the potential to take on increased creative ownership and influence.Strong graphic design skills with a portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking, innovation, and execution across multiple formats.Experience taking creative concepts from idea to finished product, including managing implementation across channels.Comfort working independently and managing multiple projects at the same time.A self-motivated, proactive approach with strong organizational skills.Ability to collaborate well with others and contribute positively to a creative team culture.Passion for design as a craft and a desire to use creative skills in service of Allys mission and vision.Alignment with Allys values and commitment to protecting childhood.Technical Skills (Expected)Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).Working knowledge of video or motion tools (e.g., Premiere Pro, After Effects) or a strong interest in developing these skills.Comfort designing for digital-first platforms and adapting work for different channels.CompensationSalary Range: $60,000RRSP MatchingHealth Benefits and Spending AccountHow to ApplyEmail a cover letter, resume and reference letter to Peter at Subject line: Application - Creative DesignerApplication Deadline: April 30, 2026Note: Only applications submitted by email will be considered.
