Role OverviewWe are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a CIRO / OSC regulated firm, with a strong emphasis on regulatory reporting and disciplined execution. This role is well suited for a recent CPA or CPA candidate near completion who is ready to take ownership of core accounting processes and build deep experience within the Canadian wealth management industry.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute daily and monthly accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and variance analysisPlay a key role in the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timelinessPrepare and support CIRO and OSC regulatory reporting, including recurring financial and compliance-related filingsSupport Net Capital calculations and ongoing monitoring of capital adequacy requirementsAssist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRSMaintain supporting schedules and documentation to ensure audit and regulatory readinessWork closely with Compliance and Operations teams to ensure consistency between accounting records and regulatory submissionsSupport internal and external audits, including preparation of working papers and responding to auditor inquiriesContribute to the maintenance and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsIdentify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency as the business growsQualifications & Experience35 years of relevant accounting experienceCPA designation completed or near completion (CPA Canada), with demonstrated progress toward certificationSolid foundation in accounting principles and IFRSExposure to regulatory reporting in a CIRO and/or OSC regulated environmentStrong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting and reporting systemsDetail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage recurring deadlinesPreferred / Asset ExperienceExperience in asset management, wealth management, investment dealers, or portfolio management firmsFamiliarity with CIRO rules, capital calculations, and regulatory filing requirementsExperience supporting audits or regulatory reviewsIdeal Candidate ProfileEnjoys being close to the details and owning core accounting responsibilitiesComfortable operating in a structured, deadline-driven environmentProactive, accountable, and eager to continue building technical accounting expertiseCommunicates clearly and works well with cross-functional partnersMotivated to grow into increased responsibility over time
