Job Description

Job Overview Reporting to the Manager, the Safety Consultant is accountable for the application of safety practices and standards to protect, promote and maintain the health & safety of the SHA. The incumbent implements the SHA Management System that supports the existing Safety Program, exceeding minimum health & safety standards. The Consultant ensures consistent application of all patient and staff safety legislation, regulations, and practices, quality improvement methodologies, and client concern handling. The position maintains quality and safety as outlined in the SHA Quality & Safety Plan and supports the deployment of the SHA Management System throughout the organization. Responsibilities Protect, promote, and maintain health & safety of SHA employees and patients. Implement and support SHA Management System and Safety Program. Ensure consistent application of patient and staff safety legislation, regulations, and practices. Apply quality improvement methodologies and address client concerns. Align work with SHA Quality & Safety Plan and facilitate system-wide deployment. Travel within Saskatchewan as required. Qualifications Experience in a discipline related role in the specific department/area/program. Experience in health care. Undergraduate degree or diploma in a health-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Class 5 drivers license. Knowledge of First Nations and Mtis history in Saskatchewan. Knowledge of the healthcare system in Saskatchewan. Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.
