Position Overview NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and nonclinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. The shift pattern for this post is 40 hours per week, job plan to be agreed on appointment. This post is for a substantive Neurosurgical Consultant with a specialist interest in lateral skull base and craniocervical junction pathology and will assist the department in service provision across the West of Scotland. Responsibilities Neurosurgery is a welcoming department with access to a wide range of subspecialty practice. The postholder would be expected to fulfil clinical commitments in both theatre and clinic, as well as contribute to the oncall rota which will be working at 1 in 15. The applicant will be expected to participate in the provision of elective and emergency neurosurgical care, contribute to the management of longwaiting patients and support efforts to enhance departmental performance and service delivery.
