Position Overview The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the evolution of all issued purchase orders (Asian and North American) through to successful warehouse receipt in Brantford. The Purchasing Assistant supports the procurement function by assisting the team with purchase order processing, supplier coordination, delivery tracking, and reporting. This role ensures timely and accurate purchasing activities while maintaining strong internal communication and supplier follow up. This role will join an existing team of 4 other individuals located in Brantford, as well as one located in China, all reporting to the Procurement Manager. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process purchase orders in Sage for final review and approval. Maintain accurate purchasing records, confirmations, and order documentation, including updating offline trackers and various reporting of purchases. Track open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers on delivery dates and shortages, assisting with expediting as needed/required. Goal is to minimize overall lead times within the supply chain. Assist with identifying and expediting urgent or late orders as needed. Support RFQs, sourcing initiatives, and supplier onboarding activities as required Qualifications and Skills Proven team player, well organized, and self-starter. Ability to handle large amounts of data and requests, with high attention to detail. Minimum 3 5 years experience performing similar duties in a Purchasing role Relevant Canadian customs experience Strong MS Office experience, including Excel at an intermediate level. Certified, or working towards a PMAC Certificate in Purchasing and/or Canadian Purchasing Professional (CPP) accreditation. Canadian Customs Specialist (CCS) designation is an asset
