Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role based in Saskatoon, SK or Kindersley, SK, with an option for partial remote work. The Environmental Scientist will conduct fieldwork, perform environmental assessments, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, and provide consulting services for various projects. Responsibilities include wetlands assessments, environmental impact analysis, and participation in remediation and reclamation projects while complying with relevant environmental regulations and safety guidelines. The Environmental Scientist may engage with W3M Environmental as a subcontractor or an employee. Qualifications Carry out Phase I, II environmental site assessments. Complete Phase III activities on oil and gas sites. Manage surface reclamation of abandoned oil and gas sites. Experience with Field Work, including collecting samples, site assessments, and monitoring Knowledge of Wetlands and associated assessment methodologies Strong background in Environmental Science and understanding of ecological systems Experience with Environmental Impact Assessment and regulatory compliance processes Prior experience in Environmental Consulting and working collaboratively with stakeholders Proficiency with safety protocols and risk management in environmental field settings Strong technical reporting and communication skills Bachelors degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resources, or a related field Prior experience in the energy, mining, or oil and gas industries is an asset Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as required Beneficial to have Experience in Remediation and reclamation of oil and gas sites. Carry out Phase I, II environmental site assessments. Complete Phase III activities on oil and gas sites. Manage surface reclamation of abandoned oil and gas sites. Assist with and Lead Detailed Site Assessments. Delineation and management of impacted soil. Supervision of heavy equipment operations. Complete reporting to clients and government agencies. Liaise with client, field operations, regulatory agencies and landowners. Travelling away from home for short time periods. Meet project goals within set timeframe and budget.
