MUHSEN Mission MUHSEN is a nonprofit organization serving families and individuals with intellectual, mental, and physical disabilities. MUHSEN works to establish inclusive and accessible North American Muslim communities for individuals with disabilities and their families. We do this through engaging in community advocacy and education (Awareness) and implementing and encouraging programs and services (Accommodation), leading ultimately to inclusive and welcoming communities (Acceptance). Role Overview The Adult Lead will play a key leadership role in shaping, strengthening, and scaling MUHSENs adult program in their respective city providing strategic oversight of the adult program, coordinating and hosting events for adults with disabilities, evaluate program needs, continuous parent communication, outreach to local mosques, organizations, and other disability programs, working closely with staff and volunteers, and implement individual goals. Overall, this position includes planning, development, and ongoing participant management. This individual will be expected to serve as a leader of MUHSENs Adult Program, ensuring they are mission-aligned, high-quality, and responsive to program needs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a collaborative leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. This position requires a commitment of approximately 5-15 hours a week to start, with room to grow to a full time position. Depending on program needs, some weekend availability may be required to attend events and meetings. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement the programs specifically for your city's adult population. You will work together with the Day Program Manager, regional leads, volunteers, and the community to ensure successful programming. Determine community needs and how to best serve the population Supervising volunteers and participants during events Collaborate with local organizations and businesses to establish volunteer partnerships for the participants Required Qualifications Strong commitment to MUHSENs mission, vision, and values, with the ability to model them consistently in daily work and decision-making Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build relationships, navigate conflict diplomatically, and foster collaboration. Demonstrated cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Degree in social services, education, behavioral science, speech therapy, occupational therapy, or a related field.
