Key Responsibilities As the Inventory Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory accounting processes while supporting operational and financial decision-making across the organization. Manage full-cycle inventory accounting, including valuation, costing, and adjustments, ensuring accuracy across all systems and locations. Reconcile inventory balances regularly, investigating discrepancies and implementing timely resolutions to maintain financial integrity. Operational Support & Analysis Partner closely with operations, purchasing, and logistics teams to validate inventory movements, pricing, and transaction accuracy. Provide ongoing analysis of inventory trends and variances, delivering insights that support improved decision-making and operational efficiency. Month-End & Financial Reporting Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all inventory-related accounts are complete, accurate, and properly recorded. Review costing and inventory flows to ensure proper cut-off and alignment with financial reporting standards. Process Improvement & Controls Identify opportunities to streamline inventory processes, improve system integration, and enhance data accuracy. Maintain and strengthen internal controls and documentation within the inventory accounting cycle. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work collaboratively with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely, accurate financial information. Contribute to broader business initiatives by providing data-driven recommendations and supporting continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate: Education & Experience Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, with exposure to inventory accounting considered a strong asset. Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar accounting platforms is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile complex transactions independently. High level of attention to detail, along with excellent organizational and time management abilities. Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills to effectively work across departments. Adaptability and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
