The Opportunity Build the Future with Us As an Intermediate Air Quality Specialist, you will contribute scientific insight and practical solutions to help communities across the Prairies & North region breathe easier. You will support environmental assessments, emissions modelling, regulatory reporting, and mitigation strategies that directly shape healthier, more sustainable environments. Your Impact Conduct air quality assessments, emissions inventories, and dispersion modelling for industrial, energy, infrastructure, and community projects. Lead data interpretation and preparation of technical reports, proposals, and regulatory submissions. Support project teams to integrate air quality considerations into environmental assessments and permitting processes. Collect, analyse, and validate ambient monitoring data to inform decisionmaking and compliance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts across environmental, engineering, and project delivery teams. Support client engagement by presenting findings and providing technical recommendations. Contribute to innovative best practices in air quality science, modelling tools, and environmental stewardship. The Skills That Set You Apart 36 years of relevant experience in air quality, atmospheric science, environmental engineering, or related fields. Experience with air dispersion models (AERMOD, CALPUFF, etc.) and emissions calculations. Familiarity with federal, provincial, and territorial environmental regulations. Ability to interpret scientific data and translate it into clear, actionable insights. Experience preparing high quality technical reports and regulatory documentation. Experience with various air quality related regulatory reporting including NPRI, GHGRP, AEIR and TIER. Ability to conduct occasional fieldwork to install, maintain and troubleshoot various air quality and meteorological monitoring equipment, desired, but not required. A collaborative mindset and comfort working in multidisciplinary teams. Eligibility for or membership in a relevant professional association (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., or equivalent desired, but not required). Why Choose WSP?
