ONA Job Title: Registered Nurse - ED Nursing Graduate Guarantee Status: Regular Full Time Department: Emergency Department - Oshawa Program: Emergency 12 Hour Shifts, DDNN, Days, nights, weekends, evenings, on-call Schedule (Subject to Change) Location: Lakeridge Health Oshawa Wage Schedule: $40.24 - $57.68 per hour Posting Reference: 2600000771 Lakeridge Health is more than a hospital. New Graduates and recently registered Internationally Educated Nurses who complete the NGG and are successful will be offered Permanent Full-Time position with our Emergency Department. Canadian Educated Nurses Who Graduated with a baccalaureate degree in nursing or a diploma from a practical nursing program in Canada Have not worked as a nurse in Ontario within the previous 6 months Match with an employer on the NGG online portal within 12 months of registering with the CNO Commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer after completing the NGG program transition into practice period Internationally Educated Nurses Who Completed their nursing education outside of Canada Have not worked as a nurse in Ontario within the previous 6 months Match with an employer on the NGG online portal within 12 months of registering with the CNO Commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer after completing the NGG program transition into practice period Benefits Of The NGG Program At Lakeridge Health Mentorship from an experienced ED Nurse Extended orientation and additional support while transitioning into Nursing Opportunity to transition into a permanent FT position within the Emergency Department upon successful completion of the NGG Program Experience working with talented, dedicated, and compassionate team of Nurses Opportunity for RNs to participate in a blended NGG program with our ED Development program with Humber College Qualifications Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Completion of BScN ACLS and PALS Commitment to completing Emergency Nursing Certificate (Sponsored by Lakeridge) Competent to perform CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level CC1 course required to be completed within 6 months of hire Commitment to completing NGG Program Full Time Current B.C.L.S. I.V. Certified and Defibrillation Certified Demonstrated commitment to maintaining Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CON Recent Emergency/Critical Care/Med-Surg combination of consolidation experience preferred Proven EKG interpretation, cardiac monitoring, trauma nursing and patient assessment skills Proven organizational, prioritization, critical thinking, problem-solving and teaching skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Sound judgement, good observation skills, tact and empathy Demonstrated ability to assume a charge/supervisory role Physically capable of lifting, turning, transferring patients manually and with mechanical aids Must have a satisfactory performance record At Lakeridge Health, we value inclusion and diversity.
