The Service Technician will also train customers on basic equipment maintenance.Job DutiesPerform service work on vehicle wash equipment and accessories including troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems to ascertain the needed corrective actionReplace, repair, or adjust parts and systems as necessaryIn accordance with preventative maintenance contracts, the technician inspects, lubricates, and checks wax and detergent levels as applicableRun equipment through 'cycles' to ensure the complete system is functioning properlyAdvises customers of necessary service work and make recommendations to customers regarding replacement of worn or damaged parts, systems, etc.Following unit installation, inspects equipment to ensure proper functionProvide information and training to customers regarding proper operation and general maintenance of equipmentDevelop and maintain good rapport with customers, constantly striving to provide outstanding service and ensure customer satisfactionMay deliver parts, chemicals, or supplies to customersComplete work orders, expense reports, and daily/weekly time logsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment changes or modifications through various resources such as maintenance manuals, service bulletins & how-to videos in our Learning Management System (LMS), or engineering documentsMaintains proper inventory of parts on service vehicle and in warehouse. Reports level of field inventory as requiredKeeps Service and District Manager informed of all significant problems, progress, or barriers to successComply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, POST and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policiesAny other duties as assigned by the Installation/Service ManagerQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 2 years experience as a Service Technician in a related areaClean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations within the past 5 years; no more than 2 preventable, at-fault accidents within the past 5 yearsNo impaired driving convictions within the past 10 years and no charges currently pendingAbility to use basic math and writing skillsMust have demonstrable interest and aptitude in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work through school or hobby interest including using meters and ACDC power supplyAbility to comprehend and interpret equipment, operation, and maintenance manuals and instructionsAbility to successfully work independently or within a teamForklift experience and/or ability to obtain forklift certificationCommitted to customer satisfaction and ability to adapt/respond to different personalitiesAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectivelyIntermediate computer skills, and experience with Microsoft and Google Suite programsMust possess excellent communication and organizational skillsMust have adequate sight to read installation and other engineering documents and/or work orders and other field service documentsAbility to work assigned hours plus overtime as neededMust be local to the GTA Greater Toronto AreaPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift items of light to heavy weight, up to 50 lbs.Ability to bend intermittently and repeatedly stoop, kneel, reach, twist, perform repetitive motions, using hands to grasp, push, pull, or do fine manipulations, climb ladders, and stand for prolonged periodsHourly Wage Range: $25-31 based on experience.Work Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and rotating weekendsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
