Be part of this transformative journey and help us create a lasting impact for generations to come!We are looking for a Construction Field Coordinator, who has experience with concrete works. This person will work closely with the project team acting as a liaison between Project Management, subcontractors, procurement and scheduling teams, while consistently communicating with the Superintendents and other stakeholders to ensure the on-time delivery of project plans. The Construction Field Coordinator is also responsible for coordination of all production requirements related to the assigned discipline, including but not limited to safety, quality, environmental, administration, scheduling, cost controls, client/subcontractor communication and contractual requirements.Main ResponsibilitiesEnsure the Construction is in full compliance with the Project Agreement, including matters relating to quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance, such as Projects ECO Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and all applicable legislationCoordinate with other segments to schedule work aligns across segmentsEnsure maintenance of total quality performance standards, procedures and audit controls in order to meet project requirements, this includes monitoring Inspection and Test Plan conformance and conducting the associated inspectionsIdentify and implement process improvements in order to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of site operationsFoster client confidence in project leadershipInterpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.Preparation and execution of work plans and work packagesComplete the effort cross over and schedule coordination within segment and with other segments, as required.Direct and ensure completion of work activities on site in accordance with engineering plansProvide other technical office support as required by project teamDevelop cost estimates, reviews and budgets for forecasting and current cost analysisClient service and customer focus in order to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, both internal and externalCoordination of material and equipment needs such as ordering materials, submittals to the Client, and demonstrating appropriately material handling and laydownPrepare productivity and cost tracking report as required, including preparing cost estimates for change orders for audit purposesPrice work orders and change notices for audit purposesPrepare document turnover as required for client and milestone recordComplete maintenance of project files and preparation of reportsParticipate in on-site safety meetings and lead by exampleFoster and maintain positive relations and communication with all stakeholders, internal and external.Review and participate in monitoring with the Environmental Monitor and resolve corrective actions while promoting respect for the environment and communities.Other duties as assignedRequirements3-5 years proven experience in a previous similar roleExperience with concrete projectsHeavy civil construction experience, preferably in LRT or similar public infrastructure projectsCompleted post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction-related discipline, OR related trade designation and equivalent work experienceComputer proficiency including MS Office, Primavera, SharePoint, JD EdwardsKnowledge of standard health, safety, and environmental requirements and practices in the construction industryValid Class 5 license; clean abstract preferredAbility to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditionsSkills, Competencies, AttributesAbility to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings and other construction documentsProven leadership skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated organizational skills within a multi-deadline projectAbility to work in field or office as requiredHighly motivated, able to complete assignments with minimal direct supervisionFlexibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet the time demands of unpredictable activitiesCapable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic environmentEffective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills, thoughtful, proactive and creativeDemonstrated sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goalsDiversity is important to usAt Colas, we believe our workforce should reflect the diversity of the communities we connect.
