Reporting to a controller or director, this position is the second level financial manager position. In this position, an incumbent will typically manage a work group that will consist of financial industry professionals, such as Accountants, Financial Analysts, Finance Supervisors, and Accounting Clerks. The incumbent is responsible for the quality and quantity of work in the unit including timely processing of accounting/financial documents, timely completion of reconciliations related to the unit's work, etc.ResponsibilitiesTypically manages a work group that will consist of financial industry professionals, such as Accountants, Financial Analysts, Finance Supervisors, and Accounting Clerks. The mix of employees managed will depend on the department, the work group, and the nature of the specific assignments.In this management role, the incumbent:Handles selection, staffing, performance, and discipline issues;Provides/arranges for employee training;Assigns work;Researches and solves problems unique to the unit; andServes in special committees or participates in special projects as assignedIn addition to management duties, the incumbent may perform significant individual contributor functions.This can include:Account reconciliationsDeveloping financial reports for departments and senior leadershipEnsures that all reports and disclosures comply with applicable governmental regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related fieldCMA, CPA or MBA preferredEight years of related professional work experienceWorking knowledge of PCs, networks, and basic software applications including spreadsheets and databasesWorking knowledge of the Church's general ledger accounting system and writing standard queries to generate reportsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEndowment qualification: Must be an endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a current temple recommend. #J-18808-Ljbffr
