Job Description Project: Red Lake, ON Rotation: 14 days on 14 days off Shift Length: 12 hours Salary Range: $118,000 - $168,000/annum, range is variable and dependent on overtime worked and production bonus paid Allowance: Will be provided based on location Travel: Will be provided based on location Benefits: Redpath offers comprehensive benefits including but not limited to health, dental and vision care, life insurance, pension and employee assistance program Pre-employment requirement: Drug Test Job Summary The primary role of Miner is to inspect existing underground headings, scale loose rocks and install ground support to stabilize rock mass and ensure safety. The tasks may involve the operation of scaling bars, pneumatic handheld drills, use of rubbertired underground mobile equipment such as LHD (LoadHaulDump) units, mechanized bolters, scissor trucks, shotcrete sprayers and other support vehicles in a confined environment. Load development rounds, install or fix existing mine services such as pipe, vent, cables and fans. Responsibilities Identify unsafe conditions in underground headings - high level of alertness required. Scale back and walls as required to make the workplace safe. Drill holes using handheld pneumatic drills or drillboom mounted on bolter. Install or fix existing mine services such as vent tubing and pipes using various lifting equipment such as scissor trucks, chain blocks and hand tools. Operate large mobile equipment such as 8 yard (Scoop tram) and scissor lift (man lift). Receive instructions or directives from Shift Supervisors and Captain to coordinate day to day ground control requirements. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for ensuring proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work. Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet. Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area. Qualifications Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) 2 years or more experience as a miner Ontario Basic Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core Ontario Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Specialty Module U0010, U0012, U0024, U0028, U0081, U0082 Knowledge Required Demonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining. Ability to multitask and work effectively. Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently. Respectful of cultural differences. #J-18808-Ljbffr
