Job Description

The Primary Construction Team consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP). What is the project? The Ontario Line (OL) is a fully integrated, standalone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds. The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (NC) project consists of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive designbuild contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (EGS) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract (PTUS), with supporting Early Works. What is the Opportunity? The Commercial Manager will be responsible for all aspects of commercial management on the project, including but not limited to managing commercial risks, negotiating contracts, and ensuring project profitability while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, standards and contractual obligations. Responsibilities Advise on and implement the commercial strategy and decisionmaking process for the project. Manage contract negotiations, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the project. Monitor and manage project costs, budgets and financial performance. Identify and mitigate commercial risks, implementing effective risk management strategies. Provide guidance and support to project teams on commercial matters. Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors and suppliers, to achieve project objectives. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory and contractual requirements. Oversee the preparation and submission of commercial proposals and bids. Monitor and evaluate subcontractor and supplier performance. Prepare regular reports on commercial performance and progress for senior management. Youll bring to the Team (Knowledge, Skills, Competencies) Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field. Proven experience (minimum 2 years) working as a Commercial Manager on largescale infrastructure and civil engineering projects in Canada or abroad. At least 10 years experience in commercial and contracts management roles. Strong and demonstrable understanding of commercial and contractual principles and practices. Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyse complex commercial issues and develop effective solutions. Experience in managing project budgets, costs and financial performance. Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards and industry best practices. Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Professional accreditation such as MRICS or MCIOB is desirable. Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong organisational and time management skills. A good understanding of project scheduling.
