Our vision is to create a world-class, year-round gathering place for the community.Position SummaryThe Promotion Committee is a year-round volunteer committee dedicated to showcasing the Calgary Stampede throughout Calgary and surrounding communities. The committee supports a wide range of not-for-profit events including rodeos, military ceremonies, and community celebrations by providing a fully equipped stage at no cost, helping ensure the success of each event.We are seeking 56 reliable and enthusiastic Social Media Content Creator volunteers to join the Promotion Committees Media Subcommittee. This role is ideal for creative individuals who enjoy capturing live event moments, producing and posting content quickly, and coaching others on best practices while serving as brand ambassadors. Volunteers in this role will work closely with Harry the Horse to showcase events, highlight volunteers, and represent the Calgary Stampede brand across all social media platforms, helping to engage the community and amplify the Stampede experience online.ResponsibilitiesMonitor, manage, and actively engage with the Promotion Committee's social media channelsRespond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a friendly, timely, and professional mannerMaintain a consistent brand voice across all platforms, adhering to committee guidelines and standardsAttend Calgary Stampede events throughout the year to capture, create, and share live contentCollaborate on a monthly content calendar and contribute to creative planning sessionsCreate and curate engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, and X (Twitter), including written, photo, and video materialsWork closely with Promotion Committee members, other Stampede committees, and the Corporate Communications team to develop compelling content to highlight the Calgary Stampede experienceStay current on social media trends, formats, and best practices to drive reach, engagement, and storytellingCollaborate with the subcommittee to evolve goals, workflows, and content standards year over yearEnsure all content is brand-aligned, accurate, engaging, and reflective of the Calgary Stampede valuesAttend events to capture high-quality video, photography, and behind-the-scenes content in real timeEdit and publish content efficiently, often on the same day, to support timely storytellingQualificationsStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCreative, outgoing, and able to think innovativelyExceptional organizational skills with strong time-management abilitiesFlexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentActive content creator with demonstrated experience producing short-form social media content (video and photography)Proficient in filming, editing, and publishing content using mobile devicesDemonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and discretionEmbodies the values, spirit, and hospitality of the Calgary StampedeTime CommitmentAttend four (4) Promotion Committee meetings per year (6090 minutes each) and four (4) Social Media Subcommittee meetings per yearDuring peak Stampede season (MayJuly), commit 1020 hours per month to support live coverage, content creation, and event engagementApproximately 3 hours per month during the off-peak seasonFlexibility and reliability are key to ensuring consistent social media presence and timely content deliveryTo ApplyTo apply, please submit a resume outlining your qualifications and experienceNoteAll interested applicants must be 18 and over to applyAll applicants are thanked in advance and only those selected will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
