Since 1982, Covenant House has supported more than 100,000 young people.OverviewThe Registered Nurse will practice within Covenant House Torontos healthcare clinic and affiliated program areas, serving atrisk, homeless and trafficked youth. The primary care clinic is nurseled and includes an interprofessional team of registered nurses, nurse practitioners, family physicians, psychiatrists, an adolescent medicine specialist, and a mental health and substanceuse counselor who see youth for a wide range of healthrelated matters including mental health challenges, physical health, pregnancy, sexual health, acute and chronic illness, transgender care, health promotion and disease prevention, and substance use. We utilize a traumainformed, strengthsbased model of healthcare delivery.We are currently recruiting for 1 fulltime, permanent Registered Nurse. These are replacement roles within the organization.ResponsibilitiesProviding primary and mental health care for young people in nursing visits via health assessments, interventions, health promotion and education, and followup carePerforming nursing acts and delegated controlled acts in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario practice standards, and the policies and procedures of Covenant House and the Healthcare Services departmentPerforming triage for nurse practitioners/physicians/psychiatrists and assisting providers in care deliveryParticipation, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, in the development of an individualized plan of care for youthProviding internal and external linkages, resources and advocacyWorking with diverse communities, particularly those that are marginalizedCrisis prevention and interventionParticipation in community health promotion by assessing health needs, implementing and evaluating programs based on identified need and teaching clients and team members about best practice and evidencebased careDeveloping, supervising and evaluating clinical placements nursing students in consultation with their specific educational facilitiesParticipating in team meetings, professional development, and supervisory sessions as requiredParticipating in advising on and implementing healthrelated policies for Covenant House TorontoAssisting in the general duties of running a clinicAvailability to work flexible hours including days and eveningsOther additional duties as assignedQualificationsCurrent registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of OntarioBachelor of Science in Nursing degreePreference will be given to candidates with primary care experience, preferably working with youth who have experienced homelessness or those facing barriers to accessing health carePreference will be given to candidates with experience practicing within a strengthsbased, traumainformed, harmreduction, and culturally safe frameworkSkillset in leadership, valuing teamwork and taking initiative is an assetWhat we OfferMeaningful workCompetitive compensationBenefits such as health, dental, vision, personal days, employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement and moreEmployee perks which include discounts on gym membership, city bike rentals, auto & home insurance and moreInterested candidates are welcome to apply directly to this posting on or before April 3, 2026.
