The Role The Field Engineer will be responsible for supporting and managing dayday operations of our construction project in Northern Saskatchewan. This individual will be responsible for supporting and managing daytoday operations of a fastpaced industrial construction project in the field. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Interface with the Integrated Project Management Team including the Client, Field Construction and Engineering, and Home Office, and Contractor as required to complete all assigned tasks. Ensure that the project scope is being installed per Issued for Construction documents including compliance with job specifications, lists and drawings. Assist in monitoring and answering contractor questions and concerns. Develop solutions to engineering and other field related issues that arise from the execution of project installation activities. Provide timely and complete resolutions to technical questions and requests for information. Resolve design conflict and field interference issues. Maintain and publish field sketches for problem resolution. Monitor the contractor maintenance of AsBuilt drawings. Travel to offsite fabrication facilities, as necessary, to verify material supply complies with project specifications. Validate contractor work package strategy. Task planning support and assistance as directed by Engineering Manager. Request for Information development, resolution, and tracking. Review and support of requests for quotation as needed. Review and support engineering document development. Ensure mechanical and piping installed quantities are developed and reported to Project Controls for entering project tracking system. Interface with project vendors to assure that material is received in a timely manner and the correct material is delivered. Weekly progress measurement and validation of field installed quantities. Manage budget quantities vs. take off quantities. Assist Integrated Project Management Team with implementation project lookahead schedules. Manage project scope for verification and control. Review Issued for Construction documents for cost, schedule, and other impacts. Assist in developing change orders in the case of scope variance per Project Contract. Eligible for registration, or registered as an Engineering with APEGS. 10-12 years of experience in Mechanical and Piping engineering activities on large industrial construction projects within the Mining & Minerals sector or Oil & Gas, specifically: Installation of Tanks, pumps, rotating equipment. Installation of process piping systems. Ability to interpret, update and create specifications and drawings. Knowledge of quality control documentation, practices, and procedures. Able to meet high demand high intensity environment. Multi-tasking and time management skills will be paramount. Software knowledge. Ability to build strong project team relationships. Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
