We continually look for ways to better serve our clients and our community and to equitably provide access to community health care to keep our clients healthy and happy at home.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team on a temporary basis during a period of increased recruitment and workforce activity. This role provides broad HR support with a strong focus on employee and labour relations within a unionized healthcare environment.The successful candidate brings a strong labour relations acumen and will partner with the HR Director, working closely with managers to support recruitment, address workplace issues, and ensure consistent application of collective agreements, employment legislation, and organizational policies.Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee & Labour RelationsProvide guidance to managers on performance management, attendance, progressive discipline, and workplace conflict.Interpret and apply collective agreements to ensure consistent and defensible decision-making.Assist with the full grievance lifecycle, including intake, fact-gathering, documentation, meeting preparation, and follow-up.Partner with the Director of Human Resources to address complex employee and labour relations matters in a unionized environment.Support workplace investigations and sensitive employee relations matters.Identify and escalate high-risk labour relations issues.Promote fair, consistent, and legally compliant HR practices.Recruitment & OnboardingSupport full-cycle recruitment during periods of high volume.Draft and post job advertisements.Coordinate interviews and selection processes.Conduct reference checks and prepare employment offers.Facilitate onboarding and new hire documentation.HR OperationsMaintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS.Prepare employment letters and HR documentation.Support HR audits and compliance activities.Support benefits administration and case management for staff on leaves of absenceEnsure compliance with applicable legislation, including theEmployment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and privacy requirements.May participate in the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee as an employer representative.Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes.Provide operations coverage during the HR Directors absences, including triaging employee and labour relations matters, supporting time-sensitive decisions, and ensuring continuity of HR services, with escalation of complex or high-risk issues as appropriate.Other Duties Respects and values the diversity of communities and individuals we serveOther duties as assigned, which could include special projects and additional administrative support functions as required QualificationsPost-secondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or equivalent experienceCHRP/CHRL designation (or in progress) preferred.Minimum 3-5 years progressive HR experience with demonstrated employee/labour relations responsibility.
