As a Medical Science Liaison, you will be responsible for providing external and internal customers with medical and scientific information on the appropriate utilization of Lupins specific products as well as general information about current clinical literature, therapeutic area and disease state.This is a field-based position for Western Canada, and the successful candidate will proactively build healthcare provider relationships and gain support by using a scientific approach that is aligned with Lupin Canadas objectives and therapeutic area Medical Plan.Position ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Science Liaison will work closely with internal stakeholders in developing a strategic direction for Lupins products, and will engage in scientific exchange with targeted Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) consistent with Medical Affairs objectives. These include the following:Identify KOLs and foster mutually productive relationships and partnerships in the areas of medical education and clinical/scientific research;Develop peer-level relationships with KOLs, and researchers consistent with Scientific and Medical Affairs strategy and objectives; Provide accurate and up-to-date scientific and clinical information to HCPs and KOLs in a timely manner, consistent with MSL compliance standards; Serve as a local medical resource for field (Territory Sales Team) colleagues cross-functionally and work closely with other internal stakeholders (i.e. Medical Information, Marketing Team) to meet scientific and clinical needs; analyze peer-reviewed scientific and clinical data and provide interpretations of data to internal stakeholders. Identify and recommend speakers, and support advisory board meetings and speaker training initiatives;Respond to unsolicited scientific and medical information requests and ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information;Maintain clinical and technical expertise in specific therapeutic areas;Deliver high quality scientific presentations on science and data to physicians and other key external customers;Contribute to the development and implementation of medical education strategies and initiatives, the development of medical education material, internal training, etc.;Provide specific and time sensitive feedback to core team on program successes, challenges and opportunities; and,Attend relevant scientific congresses and symposia.Travel of up to 80% required. Mostly in Western Canada and include overnight travel commitments as well as potential periodic weekend commitments.Territory: BC, AB, SK & MB.Remote/virtual work from home.Qualifications Education: PhD, PharmD, MD, or other relevant doctoral level degree.Experience: A minimum of 1 year of working in as a Medical Science Liaison or other related activity is preferred.Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to clearly communicate with medical office personnel, HCPs and KOLs, including giving presentations to internal and external customers on disease state and scientific/clinical data on company products.Good organizational and planning skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and as a team member.Must be self-motivated and disciplined.Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer programs.Collaborative skills and abilities to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
