The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working under ASME codes and standards, with a strong understanding of welding procedures, quality control, and safety compliance. This role involves precision welding, inspection readiness, and adherence to high-quality manufacturing standards. Duties Perform welding in accordance with ASME Section IX and applicable WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) Complete TIG and/or MIG welding on various metals (carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.) Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and weld symbols Set up and operate welding equipment as per procedure requirements Ensure all welds meet ASME quality and code standards Maintain proper documentation related to weld procedures and inspections Follow all safety standards and maintain a clean work environment Work collaboratively with fitters, inspectors, and supervisors to meet deadlines Requirements Minimum 2+ years of experience working with ASME codes and standards Must be able to read and work from blueprints/drawings, including welding symbols and welding procedures Must have experience with Stick (SMAW) and Mig (GMAW), with the ability to pass an open root horizontal plate test or 5G/6G open root pipe test Tig (GTAW), Sub-arc (SAW), and Air Arc Gouging are considered assets Experience with pressure equipment fabrication is preferred, including vessels, heat exchangers, piping, assembly, and related work Experience with stainless steel and/or nickel alloys is preferred Must be willing to work in confined spaces and at heights
