OverviewAdecco is currently hiring an experienced Professional Engineer for a Lead Electrical Engineer position supporting large capital projects within oil & gas, energy, and industrial facilities.This role requires strong expertise in major industry standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code and the National Electrical Code. The successful candidate will provide technical oversight to the Engineering Service Provider, ensuring that all electrical designs are robust, technically sound, and fully aligned with company requirements, standards, and best practicesJob type: Full-time | 1-year contractWork Schedule: Mon- Fri, 8 hours a day, work in officeResponsibilitiesServe as the primary technical point of contact for interface and integration with stakeholders including Operations, MCR, and other functional groups or business units.Review and approve engineering change management documents, such as Technical Deviations and Project Decision Notices.Provide discipline-specific technical oversight and lead the resolution of critical technical issues.Ensure fitforpurpose designs that align with project objectives and performance requirements.Drive value improvements, including capital cost reduction opportunities through technical innovation and optimization.Conduct focused design reviews, squad checks, and technical audits to ensure quality and compliance.Participate in integrated technical reviews, including model reviews, vendor meetings, Value Improvement sessions, electrical scheme and strategy reviews, singleline diagram reviews, plot plan assessments, and constructability reviews.Provide technical input to procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with project requirements.Contribute to Value Improvement Assessments, including vendor proposal reviews, coordination with vendors and engineering partners, and engagement with enterprise technical groups, operations, and other stakeholders.Support critical equipment selection, providing subject-matter expertise and technical justification.Perform prequalification technical evaluations and support contractor/vendor selection, considering local requirements and approved vendor lists.Review major Material Requisitions (MRs) and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs) to ensure accuracy and completeness.Support vendor inspections and shop visits, including witnessing factory acceptance tests or performance tests as required (business travel may be needed).QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA in the province of AlbertaMinimum 15 years of experience supporting large capital projects within oil & gas, energy, or industrial facilities.Strong working knowledge of key industry standards,including the Canadian Electrical Code and National Electrical Code (required)Experience with highvoltage (HV) electrical design considered an assetPrevious ownerside experience providing technical oversight of Engineering PartnersExperience working with an Engineering Service Provider is an asset too.Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teamsMust be a current resident of Calgary, Alberta or willing to relocate.Are you interested in this position?
