IIdaho Forest Group - Moyie Springs is looking for an experienced Boiler-Kiln Lead Operator to join our team. The Boiler-Kiln Lead directs the team responsible for the operation, maintenance and safety of the Boiler and Kilns. In addition, they assist Plant Leadership with the environmental performance of the boiler and kilns, achieving quality standards for lumber drying targets and leading a department team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAs. - Follow safety protocols and report hazards to ensure a safe work environment. - Lead the day-to-day operations of the boiler and kilns, ensuring they operate efficiently and within safe parameters including start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting. - Coordinate with other departments to schedule preventative maintenance activities. - Ensure that operations comply with industry regulations and safety standards including the monitoring of safety systems like pressure relief valves, temperature sensors, and emergency shutdown systems. - Assist with the supervision and training of team members working with boilers and kilns, ensuring they understand operational procedures, safety protocols and achieve certification requirements. - Ensure that all necessary spare parts, chemicals or fuels are stocked and readily available. - Duties may vary by location. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - 1+ years of experience in boiler and/or kiln operation with an understanding of safety regulations and requirements. - Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting. - Problem-solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges creatively and effectively. - Organizational Skills: The ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Examples include time management, multitasking, and production targets - Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Valid drivers license. - High School Diploma or equivalent. - Boiler-Kiln Operator License. - Previous leadership experience. - Rolling stock and/or forklift experience. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs. - Bend at waist frequent - Twist upper body frequent - Lift above waist height frequent depending on machine center - Repetitive use of hands constant - Stand/walk constant - Vision near and far correctable; depth perception - Hearing preferred for awareness of surrounding machinery, mobile equipment, emergencies WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, airborne particles (sawdust).
