ASSISTANT CONTROLLER OREZONE GOLD CORPORATION Department: Finance & Accounting Reports to: Corporate Controller POSITION SUMMARY This role is an exciting opportunity to join an international, multi-asset operating mining company, led by an experienced management team and will provide significant opportunities for candidates seeking personal growth as a key member of our dynamic finance team. The Assistant Controller will be key in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient financial operations across the organization. You will support the monthend and quarterend close processes, consolidate financial results from our operating mines, and help drive continuous improvement in accounting systems and processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fastpaced environment, enjoys complex multientity accounting. The Assistant Controller will report to the Corporate Controller and work closely with the sitebased finance teams located in Qubec and West Africa to deliver relevant and accurate financial information to assist management in its direction and oversight of the Companys Casa Berardi Gold Mine (Casa Berardi) and Bombor Gold Mine (Bombor). COMPANY DESCRIPTION Orezone is an emerging multi-asset gold mining company with established mining operations in Canada and West Africa. The Company holds an 85% ownership interest in Bombor in Burkina Faso and, most recently, acquired a 100% ownership in Casa Berardi in Quebec. Orezones nearterm strategy is to become a midtier gold producer by executing on growth opportunities at its existing mines and pursuing further accretive acquisitions where the Companys expertise on mine operations and development can unlock value. Orezone is led by an experienced team focused on social responsibility and sustainability with a proven track record in project construction and operations, financings, capital markets and M&A. The Company is a publicly listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) under the symbol ORE, and trades on the OTCQX under the symbol ORZCF. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities including: Analyzing, investigating and documenting variances; Supporting the review and ongoing improvement of corporate and subsidiary working papers, reconciliations, and support; and, Planning, organizing and directing staff resources and activities to ensure work is performed to a high standard and within set deadlines. Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, financial models, and consolidation schedules. Assist in the preparation of IFRScompliant financial statements and the MD&A. Coordinate with site teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Manage the Companys sharebased compensation awards through the TMX platform, including the preparation of associated quarterly schedules and journal entries. Financial and Accounting Analysis Develop financial models and working papers for new transactions and accounting issues. Research and perform technical analysis and peer benchmarking on new issues and discuss conclusions with the finance team. Write technical accounting memorandums, as required. External Audit Support Assist with the coordination and management of quarterly reviews and the annual audit to ensure a costefficient and successful result. Be a key point of contact for the external auditors to ensure deliverables are provided in a timely manner and deadlines are met. Collaborate with the Orezone finance team in the preparation and delivery of audit support. Internal Controls & Compliance Assist in ensuring compliance with TSX, ASX, and other regulatory requirements, and corporate policies. Contribute to the companys strong internal control environment through supporting the internal audit function with maintaining and enhancing internal controls, processes, and documentation. Special Projects Contribute to the exciting financial and system integration of the newly acquired Casa Berardi Gold Mine. Collaborate and support other corporate functions including corporate development, investor relations, treasury, tax, ESG, and risk management as needed. Teamwork Contribute to the professional development of our people and processes at corporate and the site teams as we strive to improve timeliness and quality of internal reporting. Liaise effectively with other departments (both at corporate and at site) to ensure issues with an accounting impact are brought to the attention of the accounting team on a timely basis. Facilitate a collaborative and productive working environment and communicate transparently to ensure achievement of individual and Company objectives. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate for this position will have a combination of interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to take initiative and adapt in a fastpaced, changing environment. Specific skills, knowledge and experience include: CPA designated accountant with 3-5 years of experience, with preference given to individuals with a strong familiarity with the mining sector; Expertise with IFRS to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards when preparing and/or reviewing external financial reports; Excellent communicator (verbal and written) in English, including preparation and presentation of materials to senior management; Superior analytical skills, including expertise in Excel and ability to balance detail orientation with understanding and presenting summary findings; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple areas, produce quality work and meet competing deadlines; French language skills would be highly beneficial; Team player who puts emphasis on collaboration with colleagues and mentoring and is willing to assist teammates when required; Experience with internal controls and/or tax compliance is advantageous; and Experience with financial systems and, particularly Sage accounting software, is not required but would be beneficial.
