Position In support of the Vision, Mission and Values of LutherCare Communities, and with funding from Canada Summer Jobs, we are seeking a professional, organized and selfmotivated individual to join our Marketing and Communications team, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications. Start Date: To be determined in May/June, and will continue into the summer months. Eligibility Age between 15 and 30 years inclusive at the start of employment. Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or refugee protection beneficiary. Legally entitled to work in Canada under provincial/territorial legislation and regulations. Valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment. Responsibilities 1. Content Creation & Communication Assist in creating engaging content for newsletters, social media, website updates, and resident/family communications. Draft posts, stories, and graphics that highlight resident activities, community events, and organizational achievements. Support development of brochures, posters, and promotional materials for housing programs and services. 2. Social Media & Digital Marketing Monitor social media accounts, schedule posts, and track engagement metrics. Help maintain a consistent brand voice and respond to comments/messages under supervision. Assist with basic website content updates, such as uploading photos, updating community calendars, or posting announcements. 3. Event & Campaign Support Support planning and execution of community events such as open houses, family days, awareness campaigns, and celebrations. Help prepare event materials (signage, invitations, registration lists). Assist with onsite setup, photography, and postevent reporting. 4. Branding & Design Assist with designing simple marketing materials using Canva or similar tools. Ensure materials align with brand guidelines (colors, logo placement, tone). Help update and organize photo libraries, templates, and design files. 5. Market Research & Analytics Conduct basic research on market trends in senior housing, community engagement, and local competitors. Collect and analyze data from surveys, online engagement, and feedback forms. Prepare summary reports to support decisionmaking and continuous improvement. 6. Internal Communication Support Assist in preparing internal team member newsletters or announcements. Help highlight team member achievements, service improvements, and organizational updates. Support communication related to fundraising, volunteer appreciation, or community partnerships. 7. Administrative & Coordination Duties Maintain organized records of marketing activities, campaigns, and digital assets. Assist the Marketing Manager with scheduling, email drafts, and tracking deadlines. Provide administrative support such as filing, updating spreadsheets, and preparing meeting materials. Qualifications Applicants would typically have a Grade12 education and a valid Class5 drivers license. Enrollment in a postsecondary program is preferred. Candidates must have sufficient practical experience to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position as outlined. Strong interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English fluently are required.
