Consistently recognized for excellence, including Platinum status in Canadas Best Managed Companies, Acadian Seaplants offers an inspiring, values-centered workplace dedicated to sustainability, quality and global impact.Role Description:Reporting to the Global Product Development Director, the Regulatory Manager, North America (NAM) will design and execute the regulatory strategy to ensure Acadian products are legally and effectively registered in line with Acadian Plant Health, Animal Wellness and Human Wellness growth and Portfolio Development Group (PDG) strategy, to facilitate expansion of the Acadian business through development of a new portfolio of products in addition to the existing portfolio. The role will focus on the registration of biostimulants in the region, with specific focus on navigation through the complexities of the North American regulatory environment.This is a remote position. You must be located in either Canada or the United States or in a similar time zone.Your responsibilities will include:Lead all regulatory, registration and certification and projects correctly and on time to ensure regulatory compliance.Renew on time and maintain all existing state-level product registrations, organic certifications and EPA registrations owned by Acadian Seaplants Limited.Track and complete fertilizer tonnage reporting and payment as required by each state on an annual, semi-annual, or quarterly basis as required.Lead the provision of regulatory advice and guidance to identify the various NAM regulatory options pros/cons/costs/timelines of each.Secure, renew and maintain appropriate registrations for Acadian products in line with the PDG strategy, managing the regulatory section of the PDG project tracker to ensure a current view.Manage the preparation and coordination of regulatory submissions to secure these product registrations and certifications. This may include direct negotiations and liaisons with government officials, third party companies (consultants), and other departments within Acadian Seaplants Limited concerning submission applicationsManage the final application/dossier submissions and communicate effectively with consultants, regulators and others as required to obtain timely product approvals.Maintain a high level of regulatory knowledge of NAM product registration regulations by fostering professional relationships with governmental bodies, certifying bodies, consultants, and lobbying agencies and communicate within the Regulatory team.Keep abreast of and understand proposed changes in local legislation and/or regulations, communicate them internally, and if necessary, coordinate efforts to lobby or comment on the changes.Obtain and maintain organic product registrations with global certifiers and obtain organic registrations for new products and in new jurisdictions as required.With Manufacturing, Quality and R&D, identify any product changes that may affect our registrations or certifications and communicate these changes to the appropriate regulatory bodies where appropriate and within the Regulatory Team to ensure alignment.Collaborate with the S&OP team to ensure that all product packaging, labels and marketing materials conform to in-jurisdiction legal requirements.Support the Global Sampling Team with provision of import permits and associated documents for samples going to NAM.Support the Manufacturing Plant with global organic and ISO compliance needs.Manage the NAM portion of the Regulatory budget for registration and certification expenses to assure compliance with market and needs as well as alignment with long range business plans and PDG strategic direction.Lead the effective management of related budgets by providing regular updates and estimates vs. plans, within the PDG process, to the Global Product Development Director and with the Regional Marketing Managers who have functional responsibility for markets and jurisdictions.Protect market readiness by identifying competitive risks and opportunities through ongoing research, collaboration with colleagues and utilization of knowledge gleaned. Present recommendations to assure timely address of barriers to market entry, changes to regulations.Drive the companys core values of safety, teamwork and value creation by displaying appropriate behaviours.Your Qualifications:MSc or PhD level in a relevant scientific discipline such as plant pathology/physiology, agronomy, chemistry, biology etc., preferred.At least 10 years of experience in a regulatory role in the biostimulant and fertilizer industry, experience in agrochemical or biocides industry is a benefit.A demonstrable track record of dossier preparation and of obtaining successful approvals under regulations for biostimulants.Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to work well, in a high pressure, multi-task environment.Strong project management to support product development with cross-cultural communication.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office software.Fluency in English (verbal and written).
