[Co] is to develop, provide and manage a comprehensive, sustainable, and responsive employee health benefits strategy and program, co-created with and for the benefit of not-for-profit participating healthcare organizations in Canada.As Co continues to grow, we are able to fulfill the services we offer to our participating organizations, who range in size from small organizations up to more than 8,000 employees. We will provide services across the spectrum, building and providing solutions that are unique and tailored to the not-for-profit healthcare sector.Join us and be part of the team working to make a difference.SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Vice President, Group Benefits Operations, the Benefit Analyst will work closely with the Benefit Operations Team and the Service Team to provide advice, respond to client needs, and both create and deliver products and services to the Participating Organizations. This is a key role in delivering Cos value proposition to our clients in a manner that strikes the right balance of efficiency, costs, value, and exceptional customer service.The Benefits Analyst is responsible for developing data and analytical reports that provide insights to our participating organizations about their employee group insurance benefit programs. Responsibilities include leading small to mid-size projects, assisting other team members on larger more complex projects related to employee benefit program analytics, investigating and analyzing data to support a variety of employee benefit plan initiatives, and assistance with vendor management issues that affect participating organizations, the program and different business elements at Co.The successful candidate will have effective technical computer skills, good communication skills, works well in a team setting, has an aptitude for data, and be a self-starter who enjoys working a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a small agile organization, is process and detail oriented, and has a strong foundation in employee group benefits and group insurance.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in employee benefit programs and Canadian group insurance, and apply this to the development, execution and improvement of client analytics and reports by providing advice and suggestions where possible;Demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills in developing solutions for client employee benefit issues;Stay current with a working knowledge and awareness of industry trends, provincial and federal legislation and related governance (e.g. CLHIA);Ensure solutions are delivered according to defined quality standards;Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing effective communication processes to keep others up to date on project status and results;Independently identify and initiate activities to ensure client satisfaction and improve quality of client services;Develop and deliver presentations and communications for clients, prospects or other industry audiences that are well prepared, accurate and thoughtful;Support to manage relationships with service providers;Participate the development and execution of other special projects and responsibilities as may arise or be assigned from time to time to achieve Cos strategic goals.DOCUMENTATION:Create models, tools, spreadsheets, diagrams, and charts to provide clarity and direction, and document data sources and processes;Analyze and clearly document data, analytical tools, and systems to bring efficiencies to the client deliverable process;Develop and/or utilize standard templates to write accurate & concise client reports and documents;Develop user guides and directions for tools and report development, and contribute towards improving the standards to ensure accurate and complete peer review of client deliverables;TEAMWORK AND SUPPORT:Participate as a cooperative, proactive team member in projects involving other associates throughout the organization and our participating organizations;Provide one-on-one assistance to Co associates as required in training on new initiatives, resolving client service incidents, and dealing with vendor issues;Establish strong working relationships internally with team members to collaborate and partner on issues;Accept mentoring, coaching, and other developmental feedback from associates within and outside the organization;Positive attitude combined with a desire to contribute to the success of Co.Other duties as assignedPREFERRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: University or College degree in business administration, financial services, mathematics, actuarial sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience;Three to five years of progressive experience in a group benefits consulting and/or group insurance;Understanding and awareness of insurance carriers and other vendors in the healthcare ecosystem;Experience with union benefit arrangement, collective bargaining process and negotiations in the healthcare sector;Advanced skills in data management, spreadsheet development and data programming;Customer service focus;Certifications such as the following would be considered an asset:Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU)Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) and licensed insurance agent registered with the Financial Services Regulatory (FSRA) for group benefits programs Pursuit or completion Fellowship with the Canadian Institute of ActuariesAn agile, enthusiastic, and creative thinker, who is constantly driving performance improvement and are passionate about providing an enhanced benefits experience for the Canadian healthcare systemBilingual (English/French) would be an assetWORKING CONDITIONS: Flexible work modelHours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 4:30pm ETMay be required to attend functions/meetings during off hours.Travel: 1% to 5% anticipatedBENEFITS WE OFFER: Financial benefits competitive salary, annual incentive bonus program & Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP),Health benefits competitive extended health and dental benefits, short- and long-term disability programs and life insuranceTO APPLY: Please submit your rsum to In order to be considered for this position, please include a current rsum or detailed qualifications summary with your application.
