The Plant Manager will oversee daily plant operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and production quality. Responsibilities include leading production planning, managing manufacturing operations, optimizing processes, and supervising staff and equipment performance. The ideal candidate will maintain a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on operational excellence and employee engagement while meeting production goals and deadlines.Specific Responsibilities Automate and manage production schedule to maintain inventory and evaluate staffing requirements, considering budgetary and time constraints Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping. Review operations and confer with administrative staff to resolve production inefficiencies Assist with the hiring, training, evaluation (performance reviews), and/or discharge of staff Provide training, mentoring and discipline to employees while enforcing corporate policies and procedures.Coordinate or recommend procedures for facility or equipment maintenance (regular and preventative) or modification.Establish quality benchmarks and implement quality management procedures.Report to the President and Vice PresidentsQualificationsExpertise in Plant Management and Plant OperationsStrong understanding of technical and mechanical processes Proven track record of compiling and analyzing performance metrics Proven leadership and team-building skillsAbility to implement safety protocols and drive continuous improvement initiativesStrong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilitiesBachelors degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferredPrevious experience in the packaging or manufacturing industry is a strong assetExperience with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle) an assetTraining in HACCP, GMP, ISO, WHMIS, and Health & Safety are definite assetsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel required.
