With our Jamieson, youtheory, Progressive, Smart Solutions, and Iron Vegan brands, were growing globally and reaching more people every day.Our commitment to quality, innovation, integrity, inclusion and sustainability has earned us a strong reputation Worldwide, and our world-class manufacturing and certification standards continue to set us apart in the industry. www.jamiesonwellness.com What Youll DoOverall ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Supervisor of Product Development (PD), the Formulator will be responsible for raw material physical testing, theoretical product costing, new formula development and scale-up, and assist with formula optimizations.Specific Key Responsibilities & DutiesDesign and build theoretical formulations for estimate cost evaluationPrepare research and development (R&D) prototypes, bench trials, pilot batches and oversee production scale-up operations with oversight from Formulation Specialist, Senior Formulation Specialist and PD ManagementInitiate stability studies and monitor results for specification compliance and product improvement with oversight from PD management teamDetermine optimal grade and physical properties of materials for solid dosage formulationEvaluate chemical and physical properties of new raw materials and make recommendations for approvalOperate, maintain, interpret and summarize data/results from R&D equipment and instruments including but not limited to tablet presses, blenders, coaters, hardness, friability, disintegration, particle size, flow testing equipment, slug test and capsule machineAssist in product/equipment validation as requiredPhysical testing and evaluation of R&D products as required Maintain accurate and detailed records of R&D product development projectMaintain all project timelinesOther duties and projects as deemed necessaryKnowledge, Skills & Abilities RequirementsDegree or diploma in Science or Engineering (preferably in Chemistry, Food Science or Pharmacology) from an accredited College and/or UniversityOne to three years practical experienceWork experience/expertise in tablet, tablet coating, softgel coating, hardshell capsule and liquid or other supplement delivery technologies would be an assetSuperior communication and management skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsProficient with computersTeam orientedKnowledge of GMP, GLP and Health & Safety training an assetNote: If you dont meet every requirement listed here, we still encourage you to apply. The actual salary offered will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, level of education, and other professional qualifications aligned with the requirements and complexity of this position.
