Your Opportunity In the role of Civil Engineering Technologist, this individual will contribute to a multidisciplinary team on the design and delivery of land development projects for our clients located across Saskatchewan and Southern Alberta. These rewarding projects will provide the individual an opportunity to learn and expand their engineering skills. Your Key Responsibilities Prepare drawings and figures as required using AutoCAD Civil 3D software to support project teams. With guidance, prepare designs for site grading and site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management, noise attenuation and erosion control design. Complete tasks including cut and fill calculations, turning movements, and flow calculations for the design of wastewater and storm sewer systems. Participate in quality assurance and quality control reviews. Coordinate and review the design of shallow utilities. Contribute to project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, and other various project stakeholders as required, including accountability to schedule milestones. Act as an onsite observer for construction projects which includes interacting with contractors, municipality staff, senior survey staff, providing construction survey staking, layout, inspection, as well as reviewing drawings and survey grade sheets. Actively participate and be engaged in the implementation of safety controls, attend safety meetings and actively promote safety and a safe work culture in the workplace. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation. Able to work under and meet tight deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and BlueBeam Revu is strongly preferred, with a willingness to learn additional software skills for relevant design software. Education and Experience Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 year of industry experience recommended. However, we are seeking highly motivated team members and provide comprehensive training and development of high potential candidates. Requires a valid Class 5 drivers permit. This position will primarily work in an office setting; however, it will require field work depending on the season.
