Clients include youth who are addicted or abusing substances and may be aggressive, depressed, anxious and/or withdrawn, who may live in dysfunctional families and communities and may be suicidal, traumatized, criminally offending and suffering from significant developmental disabilities. Public education and other primary prevention activities are required as well as a range of integrated case-management services and consults with other organizations and agencies. Within the general mandate parameters and under the general direction and supervision of the program manager, the position independently makes decisions around assessment procedures, intervention strategies, exercising clinical judgment and sound ethical decision making.
