Kelowna Family Y 375 Hartman Rd Kelowna, BC V1X2M9, CAN The YMCA Child Care division is looking for an experienced, passionate Recreation Camp Supervisor to join our team this summer and help create incredible experiences for children ages 512. As part of our dynamic team, you will oversee Recreation Camp Leaders and volunteers, delivering engaging programs filled with sports, games, swimming, creative activities, and outdoor adventures. Youll help foster a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels welcome, supported, and excited to participate. This leadership role includes supervising staff, supporting program quality, and serving as a key point of contact for families, helping to build strong, trusting relationships within the camp community. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in childcare, education, or coaching who are looking to grow their skills in leadership, program planning, and child development. Our Child Care Team is supportive, energetic, and growing! The Supervisor role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 am5:00 pm. This seasonal position is perfect for making a meaningful impact this summer. If the following sounds like a good day at work, this job might be for you! - Plan, implement, lead, and evaluate daily program activities for children ages 512, based on program curriculum and participant age - Support childrens growth through play-based educational programming, including literacy, mathematics, science, arts and crafts, drama, games, team building, swimming, daily physical activity, outdoor play, and sports - Supervise, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to Recreation Camp Leaders and volunteers to support program quality and staff development - Oversee program staff and volunteers to ensure YMCA standards, policies, and safety protocols are consistently followed - Act as the primary on-site contact for parents and guardians, providing clear communication, addressing questions or concerns, and building positive, trusting relationships - Maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues while delivering excellent customer service - Ensure a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and engaging environment for all participants - Track attendance, complete daily documentation, and ensure program areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained - Maintain confidentiality of all YMCA-related information - Participate in and promote YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiatives and philanthropy Wed love to hear from people with: - Passionate about working with children and helping them achieve their full potential through purposeful programming - Comfortable in a swimming environment and actively participating in physical activities with children - Handson, practical, and able to use common sense in a busy, dynamic environment - Enjoys working in a rewarding and sometimes challenging setting - Experience enhancing childrens experiences through playbased, educational, and recreational activities - Valid First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain) - Class 5 drivers license preferred - Experience working with children and youth with exceptionalities is an asset - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills - Commitment to Mission, Vision and Values: Demonstrates and promotes a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA of Okanagan. - Service Orientated: Deliberately identifies and creates opportunities to enhance each individual's YMCA experience.
