The Role at High Level Were looking for a talented Staff Software Development Engineer Frontend who doesnt shy away from tackling complex UI challenges and building scalable, high-performance web applications in the payroll and HR tech space. Youll play a key role in shaping our front-end architecture, design systems, and engineering excellence while mentoring others and driving innovation across the team. You will report directly to our Engineering Leadership team. What Youll Be Expected To Own Lead the development of scalable, performant, and usercentric frontend applications Own the full lifecycle of frontend featuresfrom design to deployment Drive UI architecture, component systems, and frontend platform strategy Build and maintain reusable design systems and shared UI libraries Ensure high standards in code quality, testing, accessibility (WCAG), and performance Optimize applications using modern performance techniques (lazy loading, code splitting, caching) Collaborate crossfunctionally with Product, Design, DevOps, and Architecture teams Contribute to cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for frontend delivery Establish monitoring, reliability, and performance best practices for UI services Mentor and support engineers, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence Influence frontend architecture decisions and longterm technology strategy Research and evaluate emerging technologies, including AIdriven development tools What You Bring To The Table 7+ years of experience in frontend or UI engineering You have experience with microfrontends or modular UI architectures Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (React preferred) Strong experience building largescale web applications and componentbased systems Advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modern styling approaches Experience with REST and/or GraphQL API integration Strong testing practices using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright Experience with build tools (Webpack, Vite), Storybook, and CI/CD pipelines Proven ability to optimize performance and deliver accessible, responsive designs Strong problemsolving skills with ownership of complex technical challenges Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and nontechnical stakeholders Bonus points if Youve contributed to or led design system initiatives You have experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) Youve worked with AI/ML tools or developer productivity tooling You actively explore and implement automation to improve engineering workflows What We Bring To The Table Impact: Roll up your sleeves and directly contribute to the growth and success of Wagepoint by shaping our workforce.
