Job Description

Opportunity As a Junior Wildlife Biologist in our Saskatoon, SK office, you will work in a multidisciplinary technical team on environmental regulations across various sectors, championing project planning, data collection & analysis, and technical reporting. You will support numerous local and national projects, working directly with clients and project management throughout development lifecycles. Key Responsibilities Planning and leading wildlife field surveys. Supporting team members and clients on the application of environmental regulations, guidelines, and beneficial management practices across several sectors and writing technical reports and environmental assessments in Manitoba and elsewhere in Canada. Working collaboratively in a team environment and under deadlines in wilderness and outdoor settings, able to work independently with minimal supervision. Qualifications Familiarity with provincial and federal wildlife regulations and guidelines. Demonstrated timemanagement skills and ability to deliver highquality work products in a scheduledriven environment. Proven technical, communication, writing and organization skills. Professional consulting experience demonstrating progressive responsibility. Experience undertaking a variety of wildlife and speciesatrisk field surveys (e.g., migratory birds, mammals, amphibians) in Prairie and Boreal ecosystems. Familiarity with environmental construction monitoring and experience working collaboratively with contractors, clients and stakeholders (asset). Good driving record and valid Class 5 drivers license required. Secondary experience undertaking vegetation surveys or aquatic surveys would be considered an asset. Able to lift 50lbs and endure long days of challenging field work while maintaining a positive, solutionsfocused attitude. Excellent navigational skills and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in the field. Able to thrive in a dynamic environment under deadlines. Education and Experience Diploma or degree (degree preferred) in wildlife biology or related field. Eligibility for a Professional accreditation (BIT. or P.Biol.). Minimum of 13 years of relevant experience including field work. Include detailed information on fieldbased skills and valid health and safety training (first aid levelC, auxiliary vehicles, etc.). Work Environments Typical office environment with computer work and long sedentary periods. Field work may include remote work, long drives, 2+ week awayfromhome shifts (including evenings, weekends, holidays), and exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
