IQ PARTNERS has partnered with a prominent Canadian business law firm, to find an experienced Manager, Corporate Law Clerks to join its Toronto office. This organization is widely recognized for supporting a diverse portfolio of clients, including multinational corporations, established domestic companies, and mid-market businesses across a range of industries.Position SummaryThe Manager, Corporate Law Clerks will be responsible for leading a team of clerks while also contributing hands-on support to a high-volume corporate practice. This is a dual-function role combining leadership, operational oversight, and senior-level legal support.The successful candidate will collaborate with peers in other offices and report into senior leadership within the law clerk/paralegal function.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operational OversightOversee daily operations of the Corporate Services team, ensuring adherence to internal standards, processes, and strategic objectivesAct as a key liaison between the team and senior leadership, ensuring resourcing needs and workflow challenges are effectively communicatedAllocate work appropriately across the team, balancing capacity and skillsetsMonitor deadlines related to filings, renewals, and client deliverables to ensure timely completionPlay an active role in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance development of team membersContribute to the design and implementation of training initiatives, including continuing education programsSupport the ongoing development and refinement of corporate procedures, templates, and best practicesProvide input on billing structures, including rates and alternative fee arrangements, while tracking overall profitabilityBuild and maintain strong internal client relationships across practice groupsIdentify opportunities to enhance service delivery, improve efficiency, and streamline workflowsSenior Law Clerk FunctionsPrepare and review corporate documentation for a variety of transactions, including incorporations, reorganizations, amalgamations, financings, dissolutions, and amendments under both provincial and federal frameworksConduct legal research and summarize findings for internal stakeholdersCommunicate directly with clients and assist in managing ongoing relationshipsQualifications & ExperienceMinimum 8 years of relevant experience, including leadership experience within a corporate services or law clerk function in a legal environmentStrong working knowledge of corporate law, including applicable provincial and federal legislation governing corporationsPost-secondary education or recognized law clerk designationDemonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and client service excellenceExceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced settingStrong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detailAbility to work independently and exercise sound judgmentCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary in the range of $140,000$155,000Comprehensive health and dental coverageRetirement savings program with employer contributionProfessional development and education supportWellness-focused initiatives, including fitness reimbursementFlexible, hybrid work modelAdditional perks such as employee referral incentives and workplace amenitiesWe do not use AI as part of our recruitment process.
