1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the #1 name in junk removal, is looking for a Senior UX Designer in Vancouver with a strong foundation in user research and a passion for elevating research-led design within product teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at uncovering deep insights, translating them into meaningful design decisions, and helping teams center around the voice of the customer. As a senior member of our UX team, you''ll lead discovery efforts, define research roadmaps, and influence product direction through evidence-based design. Youll also mentor and coach other designers to level up their research and strategic thinking skills. A DAY IN THE LIFE Champion and lead UX research across multiple products, planning, conducting, and synthesizing findings from usability testing, interviews, field studies, and more. Work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define problem spaces, validate hypotheses, and advocate for customer needs throughout the product lifecycle. Translate insights into journey maps, problem statements, opportunities, and design strategies that drive alignment and clarity. Lead the full UX design process, from discovery to highfidelity designs and final handoff, keeping research at the core. Present findings and design solutions to stakeholders, including executives, focusing on business impact and user experience. Mentor junior and intermediate designers, especially in research planning, synthesis, and storytelling. Contribute to and evolve our design system, ensuring user insights influence scalable, consistent patterns across products. Identify gaps in our understanding of the customer and proactively propose research efforts to close them. Who You Are Youre a curious, strategic thinker passionate about getting to the why behind user behaviours. Youre confident in leading endtoend research and weaving customer insights into product strategy. You know how to balance vision and pragmatism and are comfortable working in ambiguity to create clarity. Youre not just a strong individual contributor, youre a mentor and advocate who raises the bar for research and design on your team. What You Bring To The Table 5+ years of experience in UX and UI design, with demonstrated ownership over complex research and design initiatives. Proven track record of leading research efforts that influenced product decisions and drove measurable impact. Advanced knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, synthesis frameworks, and insight communication. Proficiency in Figma and experience building prototypes to test ideas early and often. Strong presentation and storytelling skills, especially when articulating user problems and research-backed decisions to crossfunctional teams and executives. Experience mentoring others in research or design and helping to shape team processes and culture. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on B2B, internal tools, or enterprise platforms. Familiarity with tools like UserTesting, Dovetail, Maze, or Lookback. Experience working in or alongside product triads (PM, Eng, Design). Passion for elevating research maturity within an organization and guiding others in evidence-based design practices.
