Job Summary The role of the store manager is to manage the operation of Denningers King Street store efficiently and effectively to achieve Sales and Net Operating Profit (NOP) goals while giving customers an excellent shopping experience. Responsible for customer service including but not limited to responding to customer inquiries and resolving customer complaints. Executes the Companys Merchandising and Promotional strategies to achieve the Companys sales objectives. Ensure quality control of all products. Responsible for managing all operational expenses including but not limited to labour, utilities, supplies, samples, waste, etc. Conduct regular, preventative maintenance of equipment to ensure proper functionality and control of equipment expenses. Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained to ensure departmental efficiency and customer service. Responsible for the hiring, onboarding and management of all associates within the store. Provide ongoing training and guidance to all members of the team. Ensure a safe and clean retail environment and compliance with all applicable legislation. Responsible for afterhour alarm calls and response as required. Support the Company Purpose and Values. All other duties as assigned by Management. Requirements A minimum of 2 years of management experience in a grocery retail environment. Experience in managing a Deli and / or Fresh Meat is strongly preferred. Must have a strong understanding of visual merchandising principles and inventory management. Proven experience in retail merchandising including building product displays and executing promotions. Demonstrates strong leadership and teammanagement skills with a handson management style. Demonstrate strong communication skills and professionalism throughout all levels of the organization. Proven ability to handle confidential information. Excellent time management skills. Ability to work flexible hours including but not limited to days, evenings, weekends, holidays and afterhour emergency response. Essential Job Functions Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds. Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds. Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
