Position Overview As an Electrical Instrumentation Superintendent you will be a field supervisor responsible for multiple Foreman, laborers, and craft workers. You will manage scheduling, cost control, and conformity with drawings and specifications, assign work, and ensure quality execution. You will maintain positive relationships with clients, architects/engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff. Safety is paramount, and you will ensure compliance with safety policies and participate in our safety program. District Overview Kiewit Energy Canada is a major industrial contractor specializing in engineering, procurement and construction services for the oil, gas, chemical, ethanol and related process industries. Projects include oil sands processing facilities, steamassisted gravity drainage facilities, refinery expansions, gas plant expansions, cogeneration facilities, large mine developments and pipe spool fabrication. Responsibilities Mentor and help to grow Jr. Superintendents and Foremen Review and approve the balance of Foremen, journeymen and laborers composite labor rates Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management meeting for communication) Responsible for planning and execution of work safely Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on site Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meetings with client for problem resolution and planning Oversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections Review, approve and negotiate change orders Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover Maintain daily diary for record keeping purposes Ensure that all performance evaluations are completed in a timely fashion for direct reports Recommend, where appropriate, organizational, policy and procedural or staff changes Qualifications 8+ years'' construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity (preferably on industrial projects such as oil/gas facility construction or renewable energyrelated construction) Proficiency in electrical and instrumentation systems and controls, including PLCs, DCS, and SCADA Commissioning and startup experience Proficiency in reviewing drawings such as cable schedules, layout drawings, P&IDs, and installation details Must be a selfstarter, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewits policies, procedures and software programs Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills Passion for safety and ensuring nobody gets hurt Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration Other Requirements Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timely Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
