The Strategic Enterprise Architect, specializing in Business & Strategy, is a highly influential leadership role responsible for defining and enforcing the architectural vision and governance across TMX''s global landscape. This architectural leader must ensure that our technology capabilities accelerate business outcomes and align with the enterprise''s longterm technology vision. You will be responsible for driving global strategic alignment, defining the target state architecture, and maturing the organization''s business-to-technology mapping. You will act as the principal architectural authority for the technology strategy, ensuring alignment with TMX''s missioncritical systems and strategic business objectives. Key Responsibilities Strategic Technology Planning & Business Alignment Multi-Year Strategic Planning: Lead the development and iterative updates of the 3-Year Technology Plan. Ensure this plan serves as a bridge, translating highlevel business goals into actionable technology strategies and investment roadmaps. Business Motivation Modeling: Define and maintain the Business Motivational Model to articulate the strategic drivers behind technology initiatives. Ensure that technology investments are directly traceable to business goals and motivational factors. Global Technology Principles: Establish and govern the foundational Global Technology Services (GTS) Principles. Ensure these principles guide decisionmaking across the entire IT landscape, fostering consistency and alignment with corporate strategy. Business Translation and Consensus: Serve as the chief architectural translator between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving consensus on complex strategic tradeoffs. Enterprise Capability & Target State Architecture Enterprise Capability Mapping: Lead the creation and ongoing refinement of the TMX Capability Map. Use this artifact to identify functional gaps, redundancies, and investment priorities across business units to optimize the portfolio. Target State Definition: Define the longterm Target Application Landscape. Articulate the future state of technology required to support emerging business capabilities, moving beyond current state analysis to drive modernization. Maturity Assessment: Develop and oversee the Capability Maturity Roadmap to measure the organization''s progress toward the defined target state and assess the effectiveness of technology investments over time. Strategic Governance & Corporate Development M&A Technology Strategy: Develop and maintain the M&A Playbook to standardize the assessment, due diligence, and integration of technology environments during mergers and acquisitions. Security & Risk Alignment: Ensure strategic architecture roadmaps maintain strict alignment with enterprise security standards and risk management frameworks. EA Framework Alignment: Establish and maintain a comprehensive Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework for the business and strategy domain, ensuring global consistency across business, application, infrastructure, and data. Primary Objectives & Measures of Success Successful delivery and executive endorsement of the 3-Year Strategic Plan and its periodic updates. Measurable progress in the organization''s Capability Maturity, moving toward the defined target state. Successful adoption and compliance with the Global Technology Principles across the enterprise. Effective execution of the M&A Playbook during corporate development activities, ensuring efficient technology integration. Enhanced conceptual consistency between business strategy and the Target Application Landscape. Qualifications & Experience Required: A bachelor''s or master''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. 12+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or principal architecture role focused on Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, or IT Strategy. Proven experience in a global financial services or similarly regulated industry (preferably capital markets). Deep expertise in Enterprise Architecture and Business Architecture, demonstrating the multidisciplinary breadth required to set global standards. Proven experience developing and implementing strategic frameworks, capability maps, and multiyear technology roadmaps. Exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus at all levels of a global organization. Preferred: Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, Certified Business Architect (CBA), or similar credentials. Experience leading strategic technology integration for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Demonstrated experience in bridging the gap between Agile delivery teams and longterm strategic planning. Salary Range: $145,000/year - $165,000/year CAD.
