Were looking for a Director, Software Engineering to provide technical leadership to our AI Workflow & Ecosystem groups. Team At Jobber, we work on real problems that help small businesses succeed. The AI Workflow & Ecosystem groups include Platform Experience/Marketplace, Supply, Automations, Copilot, and AI Foundations. Role Reporting to our VP, Software Engineering, the Director, Software Engineering will be a critical part of Jobbers continued success. You will provide strategic direction and technical leadership, manage engineering managers and senior engineering managers, drive product quality, partner with leadership, and utilize AI tools. Responsibilities Develop and execute a forwardthinking product strategy that aligns with Jobbers longterm business goals. Manage a team of Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers, supporting 30+ software engineers. Drive product quality, stability, and performance while maintaining agility. Partner with peers on the Leadership Team to drive company strategy and advance critical objectives. Utilize AI tools to enhance development practices. Qualifications Proven experience as an organizational leader at the Director level or higher. Track record of managing and developing people managers across multiple teams and disciplines. Handson experience running agile organizations at scale. Experience developing and executing a balanced strategy of feature, infrastructure, and maintenance. A demonstrated ability to balance customer value with business impact and manage a multimillion dollar budget. Mindset that embraces AI and emerging technologies. Experience building diverse, highperforming teams. Passion for AI technology and agentic systems. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, and/or React (React Native a plus). Experience with GraphQL, API layers, and performance optimization. Foundational knowledge of AWS services. Experience leading 5+ engineering teams. Experience building LLM and agenticsystems. Compensation The role has a minimum annual salary of $221,800 CAD, a midpoint of $261,000 CAD, and a maximum of $300,100 CAD. Benefits Full health benefits package with fully paid premiums.
