Overview HDRs global Power Generation team seeks an experienced Senior Mechanical Power Engineer to support power and energy projects primarily in the utility, IPP, industrial and institutional sectors. The role involves leading the project mechanical team, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, monitoring project status, and providing mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owners engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level. Responsibilities Lead the project mechanical team; coordinate with other engineering disciplines; monitor and communicate project status; provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owners engineering projects; create construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates; serve as Engineer of Record or Owners Engineer and may include project engineering manager or project manager responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design. Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise. Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation. Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired. Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in the fossil power industry with a blend of design and owners engineer projects. Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs. Proficiency in working within an established schedule and budget. Expectation of some travel for meetings with clients and vendors and project site visits. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering. Minimum 10 years of experience. Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng). Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit).
