VP, Training & Development (People, Product & Performance) Location: Vancouver (with travel across Canada) Portfolio: 10+ locations | multi-brand platform (Rumble, PRML, Tempo + future brands) Overview Rumble is a multi-location fitness and wellness company operating across Canada, with an expanding ecosystem of brands including Rumble, PRML, and Tempo. We have built strong product, brand, and teams. What we are building next is a company that produces high-performing people and best-in-class experiences across multiple concepts consistently and at scale. We are hiring a VP of Training & Development to take full ownership of talent, performance, and product quality across all current and future brands. This role is designed for a leader who can build elite teams, develop strong leaders, and evolve world-class, music-driven products across a multi-brand platform. The Role You are accountable for: The quality and performance of all trainers and training leaders The development of senior and intermediate leadership pipelines The consistency and evolution of product across all brands (Rumble, PRML, Tempo) The creation and development of new fitness/wellness products for future brands This includes: Building a consistent pipeline of high-quality instructor and leadership talent Designing recruiting, audition, onboarding, and leadership development systems Driving measurable improvements in trainer and leader performance Owning product standards and ensuring consistency across locations Leading development of new formats and concepts as the portfolio expands You will partner closely with the CEO and VP of Operations, with full ownership over the people and product engine of the business. Talent Recruitment & Pipeline Building (Primary Focus) Proven ability to recruit: High-performing instructors Emerging and senior training leaders Built structured hiring funnels: Sourcing audition selection onboarding Able to consistently generate pipeline across multiple markets 2. Trainer & Leadership Performance (Primary Focus) Track record of improving: Instructor performance (fill rate, retention, experience) Leadership effectiveness (Head Trainers, senior team) Built systems for: Performance tracking and scorecards Coaching and development Promotion and removal decisions Clear framework for: What great looks like at each level How underperformance is addressed 3. Leadership Development & Succession Experience developing: Instructors senior instructors Senior instructors Head Trainers / leaders Built leadership pipelines and succession plans Comfortable coaching senior talent and making high-stakes people decisions 4. Product Ownership Across Brands Owns product quality across: Rumble PRML Tempo Ensures consistency of experience across locations while maintaining brand identity Translates product standards into clear, coachable systems 5. New Product Development (Future Brands) Experience building or contributing to new fitness/wellness concepts Ability to: Design class formats (music-driven where applicable) Define structure, flow, and progression Test, iterate, and refine based on performance data Comfortable operating in early-stage product development environments 6. Data-Driven Performance Management Strong command of: Instructor and leader performance metrics Class utilization and attendance Retention and experience data Uses data to: Drive hiring and promotion decisions Identify gaps in product or performance Continuously improve systems 7. Systems Thinking & Scale Built or implemented: Training academies Leadership development programs Standardized performance frameworks Able to simplify complexity into repeatable systems across brands and markets Qualifications (Required) 712+ years in fitness, wellness, or performance-driven environments 46+ years leading training, talent, or product functions Demonstrated experience in: Recruiting and scaling teams Developing leaders Building structured training and performance systems Additional Qualifications (Preferred) Background in music-driven or rhythm-based formats Experience across multiple locations, markets, or brands Exposure to both scaled systems and early-stage product development What Will Disqualify You Strong instructor without experience building teams, leaders, or systems Product-focused but unable to develop people or scale teams Inability to clearly define or measure performance Experience limited to single-location or non-leadership roles What This Role Requires This role is built for someone who is: Obsessed with talent quality, leadership development, and performance Comfortable owning both people and product Decisive and direct with high standards Able to operate across multiple brands and stages of growth Focused on building systems, not relying on individual talent Why This Role This is not a maintenance role.
